Happy Canada Day eh!?

This year’s Canada Day was super special for me.

Without dating myself – It has been 25 years since I seen or photographed my friend, Rob Preuss in concert. Rob is one of the very first musicians I photographed back in the day, when I was a wee lass, when he played in a band called the Spoons. It had been 21 years since he played a show with Honeymoon Suite , so I felt so blessed to document this reunion tour in Surrey this Canada day!

of course no Canada Day is complete without some rides…

So the creme de la creme of Vancouver’s top bartenders gathered at a creme de la creme spot here in Vancouver, to learn from THE best, Dimi Lezinska the Grey Goose global brand ambassador.

About Demi: He was born and raised in Paris, and first developed an interest in mixology when he trained as a chef in the French Alps. He moved to London where he now resides, and continued honing his craft at some of the UK’s top cocktail bars including the Atlantic Bar, Mash and Eclipse, and as the manager of one of the most raved-about bars in the capital, LAB. He went on to achieve international recognition as the co-host of the Discovery Channel’s program “Cocktail Kings”, which is essentially a guide to some of the best cities in the world and the cocktails to be found within them. Dimitri now has the very enviable role of being Grey Goose’s global ambassador, traveling around the world to share the art of cocktail making for the French vodka brand

Hi blog readers!

Sorry for the silence, this Vancouver wedding + portrait photographer has been a very busy little bee this week.

I am so excited to share some images with you, starting with this past Friday.

Friday was a very unique and exciting day for me all my loves and worlds came together. I documented a maternity/family portrait session in the morning, a wedding in the afternoon and a concert in the evening! SO FUN! I’ll start backward, because.. why not!

Friday night Xavier Rudd played the Malkin Bowl in Vancouver. Every a light rain didn’t stop anyone from having an AWESOME time in this venue.

ok I’ll admit it!!!! READY?!!!! I am a BLOGGER and I LOVE BLOGGING!

I get a lot of people reading my BLOG, asking how I have time to always post on my BLOG, telling me they need to keep up on their BLOG – so here it is – my ode to the BLOG!

This month, I feel very honored because it seems I’m also other people’s BLOGS. soooooooo in honor of our friend, the good old BLOG – this BLOG is dedicated to BLOGGING about BLOGGING!

First up – I would like to that Christine Denis from Ottawa for placing me as her 2nd interview for her GREAT CANADAIN PHOTOGRAPHER series on her BLOG. Thank you very much for that, Christine.

Meet Malene Grotrian.

You may have seen Malene Grotrian on Anna & Kristina’s Beauty Call on the W Network, or seen her at the LOVESTRUCK BRIDAL SHOW

or I’m blessed if you heard her name here first. If you haven’t heard the name Malene Grotrian Designs, she is one of Canada’s premier Haute Couture designers.

I have been fortunate to have met and gotten to know Malene as well as her wonderful design team over the past few months and was excited to be asked to come in a shoot some a few portraits of them.

They are all amazingly talent Vancouver women doing what they love.. and the clothes they make I LOVE!!!! Check out her spring/summer 2010 collection here. It’s BEYOND amazing!
