Gosh, it seems like just yesterday we were having this photoshoot on Salt Spring Island, in the cutest little church you ever did see and then these beautiful portraits @ Ruckle Park. It was one of my first Salt Spring weddings - 10 years ago – wow!

This photograph was taken when I was a FILM photographer. There is no photoshop to this image and was shot on sepia film at 400 iso on my Nikon F90X. I remember those beautiful days of photography so fondly. I miss and love my film cameras. There was such a magic to film images that I have yet to capture in the digital world.

and dang – you both look just as gorgeous now as you did on your wedding day. Pure beauty shines thru you. I am so blessed to have shared in your lives and family for so long. much love to you and your 2 beautiful children.

Today, the beautiful Carrie Underwood married the hot, hunky Ottawa Senator’s own Mike Fisher. Big shout outs to them!

So today’s theme ironically for our engagement session has similarities.

I am from Ottawa, I like to ‘karaoke’ to Carrie Underwood songs and today our themed shoot is HOCKEY! Also, like Carrie and Mike, we chose a secret location to do our engagement session and had security around us so no one would bother us

I am so blessed with the people and couples that I meet . I think this is one of my FAVORITE shot I have ever done in the past 15 years of my career.

I got a call from Chad one afternoon suggesting he’d like to do something special for his girlfriend.

He wanted a Vancouver wedding photographer to come out to document the ACTUAL proposal at a cabin up at Cypress Bowl, where his girlfriend’s dad, proposed to her mom. (insert tears here!)

Of course I jumped up and down for joy and said yes, I would absolutely do it. With much correspondence back and forth between Chad and I picking the exact date we were all available, we agreed it would happen THIS MORNING (yes, an hour ago – I couldn’t WAIT to blog these and share them with you)

Hiding in the bushes, I was like a paparazzi/ninja making sure she didn’t hear of see me in the bushes… I’ll let the photos tell the story

She thought she was going on a beautiful Sunday morning hike until…

ENGAGED !!!!!

Time to call the parents..

her mom was just the cutest thing SCREAMING for 15 minutes with excitement. so awesome!!!!

Being a wedding photographer in Vancouver, there is one thing for sure you have to be ready for: RAIN!

It’s good luck if it rains on your wedding day and we were lucky to have just a gentle sprinkle to make everything fresh and green.

Back in January I met Jamie and she 2nd shot for me at Jen + Geoff’s wedding at Brix Restaurant. We had so much fun that on their wedding, that we did it again this weekend photographing Nancy + Andy’s wedding at the Brock House, Saturday.

It was fun to second shoot. Nancy was unbelievable gorgeous and so elated her big day was here.

I love that they did a ‘first look’

One of the things I love being about a Vancouver wedding photographer is always expect the un-expected. February 19, 2010 – I got a call…. a special call… a call that I knew somehow would change my life, and the shift began

A call from a girl named Laura. She was bubbly, lovely, passionate and we fell in love over the phone.. another SPECTACULAR bride has crossed my path. I just knew it. After passing many emails back and forth, a few phone calls, a bunch of facebook stalking and comments.. today – we met! It was LOVE.

This love was so powerful, it was not only with Laura, but with her fiance Boyd and dog Murph.

WOW – I really do have the best job in the world and meet the most amazing couples!

With this Vancouver weather, we tried to prepare for EVERYTHING and today we got everything!

RAIN, sprinkles, sun… but we were too busy laughing and having a great shoot to notice the weather change.

Their laughter is infectious and their energy is positively radiant
