So today’s theme ironically for our engagement session has similarities.

I am from Ottawa, I like to ‘karaoke’ to Carrie Underwood songs and today our themed shoot is HOCKEY!  Also, like Carrie and Mike, we chose a secret location to do our engagement session and had security around us so no one would bother us

I got a call from Chad one afternoon suggesting he’d like to do something special for his girlfriend.

He wanted a Vancouver wedding photographer to come out to document the ACTUAL proposal at a cabin up at Cypress Bowl, where his girlfriend’s dad, proposed to her mom. (insert tears here!)

Of course I jumped up and down for joy and said yes, I would absolutely do it.  With much correspondence back and forth between Chad and I picking the exact date we were all available, we agreed it would happen THIS MORNING (yes, an hour ago – I couldn’t WAIT to blog these and share them with you)

Hiding in the bushes, I was like a paparazzi/ninja making sure she didn’t hear of see me in the bushes…  I’ll let the photos tell the story

She thought she was going on a beautiful Sunday morning hike until…

ENGAGED !!!!!

her mom was just the cutest thing SCREAMING for 15 minutes with excitement. so awesome!!!!

A call from a girl named Laura. She was bubbly, lovely, passionate and we fell in love over the phone.. another SPECTACULAR bride has crossed my path. I just knew it.  After passing many emails back and forth, a few phone calls, a bunch of facebook stalking and comments.. today – we met!  It was LOVE.

This love was so powerful, it was not only with Laura, but with her fiance Boyd and dog Murph.

WOW – I really do have the best job in the world and meet the most amazing couples!

With this Vancouver weather, we tried to prepare for EVERYTHING and today we got everything!

RAIN, sprinkles, sun… but we were too busy laughing and having a great shoot to notice the weather change.

Their laughter is infectious and their energy is positively radiant

When Nicole suggested that we do their engagement session at an art gallery, I was jumping up and down for joy and we couldn’t have chosen a better location.

and it was too beautiful not to go outside today!

Today in the BEAUTIFUL sunshine on Granville Island, I got a chance to steal  Jen + Shaun (who are visiting from Fort Mac for the Olympics) away to shoot a few engagement photos.

What a fun, fun, FUN day we had today in Delta on a chilly, yet beautiful BC day!  The perfect day for engagement day for the perfect Vancouver couple!

(Gosh time flies -  that seems like just yesterday)

then I was honored to photograph the beautiful Sarah in the wedding of Catherine to Evan in July of 2007 (again, feels like just yesterday)

This group is THE most fun group of friends, and I feel so blessed to be photographing and documenting the weddings + lives of each couple with their lovely friends and watching them as each of their families grow.
